Murano

I think I remember that I forgot to explain that Venice is not a bike-friendly city; it is a pedestrian-only city -- so nothing really other than walking and boats to get around. However, there is a train station, a bus station, and an airport near the edge (where you can also bike in some areas). I wonder if that explains this:
Worried how I was going to get my bike over the border to a new country by train (regional trains don't seem to cross and go way too slow) once I left Venice, it was suggested I get a bike bag by someone at the train station who's every answer was "It's going to be difficult."
So, this morning:

Problem solved!
That, of course, changes my plans of going anywhere else in Italy or even to the beginning of the long-down-hill bike trail I was planning on doing starting in St. Moritz, Switzerland. But, I did find a direct train to Innsbruck and reserved a seat to that city. Heading there still catches some of the cycle path along the Inn River I intended to bike and should still set me up well for my later biking plans.
Later, it was off to the glass-making island of Murano.

I'm not much of a shopper, but I did explore the island quite a bit and got to catch some of the artists at work.
