But, I thought that was just what was leftover from the last time and that it hadn't melted because those mountains were so high. I was wrong. I would have actually liked biking in the snow, but the weather forecasters were predicting that it would mix with rain and I know from experience that is just messy and it would be no fun for biking nor all that great for showing up to wherever I was going to stay. So, I decided it was best to get up to Rosenheim, Germany (80 miles or 130 km). This is a lot more distance than what I plan on covering in the future (and I will need a day of rest tomorrow to recover), but I still saw some great things.
There were lots of horse farms along the way. I don't know enough about horses to know why this woman is standing on the horse, but she was doing a handstand on it before I could whip out my camera and shoot a picture. It also made it interesting dodging all the road apples along the way.
Most of the trip today was like going down a tiny street bordered by mountains on either side and the river to my right or left (depending on which side the trail unfolded). This shot directly below is as panoramic as I could get, the mountains off to the right side get cut off, so I took a separate shot (below it).
Once I got to Kufstein, I had a chance to rest and take in the sight of the castle towering over the river and the town.
Then, for a brief moment I thought I was lost. Once I saw the top signs, I knew I was headed the right way, though.
The weather broke early and it started to rain right before I got to my hotel, but I only got a little wet. Here are the peaceful images I took in right before I got into the city and the weather took a turn for the worse.
