Today was more of a travel day. We took the scooters back, but were told by a policeman we weren't permitted to keep/park the scooters where we did overnight and that only locals were permitted to ride in the part of the city we were in (I'm guessing because of how bad the fumes were that these things put out -- there was a lot of pollution pouring out the exhaust pipe). So, we had to go in the opposite direction of the scooter rental place and got lost in the maze of the city again, although honestly it was quite a bit of fun! Another positive note is that we didn't get a ticket. Oh, also I believe we may have been on some roads we weren't supposed to be driving on with our scooters the day before because some of the places had four lanes of traffic (a bypass?) and the speed limit was 90 km/h. We had a 50 cc scooter and a 100 cc scooter. The 50 cc scooter would only go a top speed of 65 km/h when on a steep downhill and maybe 40-45 km/h on an upgrade. Lesson for next time I suppose...We then took the train to Rome with a layover and switch in Chiusi because the bus would only take our bikes if we boxed them. A day of rest never hurts, but I want to share some more photos. To the right is a picture of the street out my hotel window here in Rome and also below are a few other fun pictures from previous days.
I am probably wrong, but I believe that that sign loosely translates to relax at the fat farm. :)
